Feeding for Reproduction: Pro Plan provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's ideal body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. Puppies start to nibble solid foods at 3-4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Pro Plan available at all times. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6-8 weeks). After weaning, Pro Plan can be fed moistened or dry. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. You can gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary. As puppies near adulthood, their calorie needs may drop, and your puppy may begin leaving some food in the bowl. Don't misinterpret this as an indication of dislike for the food. Instead, begin offering less so your puppy doesn't overeat and stays in ideal body condition. Nestle Purina Research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of your puppy's daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program. Recommended for Growth: This product is for growth of large breed puppies and maintenance of adult dogs - not for reproducing or lactating females. Transition Instructions

Making the Switch to Pro Plan: Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will avoid dietary upsets.

Good puppy food

This is the food the breeder used for the puppies so, I continued with it. I trust and respect the breeder so, I ordered without hesitation. Although not about this specific food I feel I should note I recently switched my older dogs off Purina Salmon and Rice due to urinary tract issues. Purina changed ingredients without notice to consumers so, I Iearned the hard way. I will use this until either my new puppy is ready for adult food or has the slightest issue. I have lost trust in Purina after the ingredient switch but, beforehand had used for years.
Delivery problem

Each time I have ordered the dog food it has been put in different places. First time was at the front door. Which is what you would expect. Next time was behind the house under the back deck. Which it was under shelter but had to get the bags out of a box that the ants had moved into and it took awhile to even find the boxes cause nobody would think they would go to the back of the house. Third time it both boxes were left at the mailbox beside the road which about a block from the house. Thank goodness it didn't rain cause there was no shelter. Have to wonder where they will leave the next two bags.
Great dane not a fan

So i bought this food not too long ago for my great dane puppy. He is normally very quick to eat ANYTHING but he does not seem to want to eat this food. I try mixing in little bits of other things to make him eat it but he wont unless i mix in a completely different dog food in as well! Very upset!
Saved my puppy from diarrhea

Every since I've had my Luna a Husky now 5 months old She has had diarrhea issues The vet had me put her on chicken n rice at first then gave me 3 choices of puppy food brands to choose from that are good for my Huskies Well the first 2 she's been on didn't help But this is the first one to actually seem like it's working It's been a couple weeks now and her poo if firm now So we have found out puppy food

Puppy Will No Longer Eat

Our lab puppy has been eating this since day 1 (10 months ago) and now with my last shipment from Chewy he won't eat a bite of it. We thought he was sick and spent $450 on tests and xrays to determine what was wrong with him. They didn't find anything. Now I know it was the change in formula. So guess I will be looking for a new dog food. Not happy!!!

We bought Hill Science Diet for our new lab puppy. He liked it but seemed to get tired of it after a few weeks. Bought this Purina and he LOVES it. We are feeding him both and it's working great. He's 15 weeks old now and really growing!
